COVID-19

At Southern California General & Cosmetic Dentistry, the health and safety of our patients and staff will continue to be at the forefront as we reopen our office for elective treatment during the pandemic. To that end, we have implemented several processes to safely bring patients into the office and facilitate treatment. This changes will include: patient confirmation; Patient Check In; Patient Screening; Treatment; and Checkout. We greatly appreciate your patience during this process.

Patient Confirmation:

Libna or Chrystal will call to confirm your appointment and ask a few basic screening questions to identify people who may be sick. During this time, sick patients are urged to stay home and recover. There will be no cancelation charges during this period.

Check In:

Please arrive to the office 5 min early so that we can screen you prior to your appointment. Same questions regarding recent illness will be asked and your temperature will be taken. Patients who have a temperature over 100.4 degrees will be allowed to cool down for 5 min and retested. Anyone, who cannot meet this cutoff will be rescheduled. Staff members who do not meet these standards will also be sent home for your protection. Once temperature check is passed we will direct you to your treatment room and provide a 1.5% Hydrogen Peroxide mouth rinse.

Patient Screening:

Each patient will be screened prior to being appointed for elective procedures personally by Dr. Fait. For most patients, this will include an in office face-to-face visit with Dr. Fait wherein he will evaluate your oral condition as well as go over any pertinent health risks involved during the pandemic. This may be difficult for some of our patients who travel from long distances including Catalina Island. Exceptions will be made on a case by case basis. Please understand that while this may be inconvenient, it is the most powerful tool that I have to ensure the safety of our patients and staff. Over the last four months, we have learned a great deal about who is most susceptible to having a severe response to COVID-19. I will carefully apply this knowledge to each individual patients oral situation given their risk factors.
